Psychology

These specialists (pediatric psychologists) are trained in addressing a full range of physical and mental development issues and disorders affecting children, adolescents and their families. They administer assessments and provide consultations to support children who may be adjusting to physical illness or personal or family relationship concerns, as well as school related consultations including IEP/504 Plan. The emotional, mental and behavioral disorders that affect children are often treated differently than adults, which is why a multidisciplinary approach is provided at Wayne Pediatrics. Common concerns typically treated by these specialists include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Enduring mental illness
  • Neurological disorders
  • Attention deficits and learning disabilities
  • Behavioral issues
  • And more

Social Work

Wayne Pediatrics provides collaborative care that begins with a thorough patient screening process which includes confidential conversations between doctor and patient and/or their family. The conversations can sometimes provide opportunities to further tailor care with support from a pediatric clinical social worker. These experts are trained to assess and identify needs beyond the physical exam to develop a comprehensive intervention plan in partnership with the family. Examples of intervention plans may include:

  • Medical follow-up
  • Referral to community resources
  • Direct referral to a behavioral health program therapist
  • And more
