Home to Wayne State University Department of Pediatrics faculty physicians. Wayne Pediatrics is a comprehensive pediatric practice of experienced medical experts dedicated solely to the health and wellbeing of newborns, children, and adolescents.
Dr. Benjamins is board-certified in pediatrics and adolescent medicine and sees patients ages 9 to 26 years old. She provides both primary and specialty care, which includes yearly checkups and sports physicals, as well as treatment for common illnesses including colds, asthma, rashes, and sprained ankles. She also treats specific concerns related to menstrual cycles, birth control, sexually transmitted infections, weight changes, and mental health. All services are provided confidentially in accordance with State of Michigan Minor Consent Laws.
As an adolescent medicine doctor, Dr. Benjamins has received additional training to identify and treat the medical and emotional issues many teens experience. Her overall goal is to help empower her patients to make healthy choices.
In her spare time, Dr. Benjamins enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, as well as outdoor activities including biking, running, swimming, and skiing. Her family unit also includes Hopper, a dog, and two cats – a brother and a sister named Alpha and Omega.
Credentials and Education
Dr. Benjamins received her medical degree from Wayne State
University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI. She completed pediatric residency
training from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, and her fellowships in
Adolescent Medicine and Joint Primary Care at McGovern Medical School and at
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
