Dr. Buggs-Saxton was born in Detroit and is a board-certified Pediatric Endocrinologist and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics with a secondary appointment in Physiology at Wayne State University.
She attended the University of Pennsylvania completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry with distinction and graduated from Harvard Medical School with doctorate degrees in Medicine and Genetics with a focus in Molecular Biology.
She has conducted basic science research on hormone signaling in the pituitary gland and is currently a principal investigator for a multicenter clinical trial in pediatric type 2 diabetes. She will be setting up the Endocrine/Diabetes Clinic for Wayne Pediatrics.
